Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This page is maintained by Zimo to answer common privacy questions about the Zimo app. It describes current in-app practices and is updated as the product evolves.

1. Who we are

Zimo ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-native business communication app available on the web, iOS, and Android. This policy explains what we collect when you use Zimo, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Information you provide

  • Account: email address, password, full name, and (optionally) job title, company name, and profile photo.
  • Content: messages, voice notes, attachments, broadcasts, mail drafts, tasks, and labels you create in Zimo.
  • Preferences: receiving language, privacy settings, working hours, notification and read-receipt preferences.

3. Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information (app version, operating system, general device type).
  • Log data such as sign-in timestamps and basic technical diagnostics used to keep the service running.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address (not precise GPS unless you upload it in content).

4. How we use your information

  • Provide core features: chat, broadcasts, task reminders, mail, and profile discovery.
  • Process voice notes into text and translate or polish messages you send through the AI writing tools.
  • Authenticate you, keep your account secure, and prevent abuse.
  • Send transactional email (for example, password resets and mail you compose from Zimo Mail) via notify.zimochat.world.
  • Improve product quality using aggregated, non-identifying usage signals.

5. AI processing

When you use AI features (rewrite, translate, transcribe voice, summarize, suggest tasks), the relevant text or audio is sent to our AI provider so a response can be generated. AI providers process this data on our behalf to return the result and do not use your Zimo content to train their public models. You choose when to invoke AI features — content you never send through an AI action is not sent to an AI provider.

6. Sharing your information

We share information only with:

  • Other Zimo users you interact with (recipients see messages you send them, followers see broadcasts you publish, and profile fields you mark visible are visible on your profile).
  • Service providers that host our infrastructure, database, authentication, storage, email delivery, and AI processing under contractual data protection obligations.
  • Legal or safety disclosures where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data and content while your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings → Delete account, we permanently remove your profile, messages, broadcasts, tasks, follows, and blocks from our production database. Copies of messages you sent to other users remain visible in those users' chat histories, since those conversations belong to them as well. Backup snapshots are rotated on a rolling basis.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (edit profile, adjust settings, delete account). For anything else, contact us at privacy@zimochat.world.

9. Account deletion

You can delete your Zimo account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This action is permanent and removes your profile and content from our systems. You can also request deletion by writing to privacy@zimochat.world.

10. Security

Zimo uses industry-standard controls including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for our managed database, hashed passwords, and row-level access rules that restrict data to the accounts entitled to see it. No online service is perfectly secure, so we recommend using a strong unique password and keeping your device up to date.

11. Children

Zimo is intended for people 13 years and older (16 in the EEA/UK, or the minimum digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

12. International transfers

Zimo is a global service. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Zimo after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
